Books and Resources for the Year of Faith
To celebrate the Year of Faith, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued pastoral recommendations to "aid both the encounter with Christ through authentic witness to faith, and the ever-greater understanding of its contents." Recommendations relative to religious education include:

Increase dedication and commitment to religious education as the place for nurturing youth faith and discipleship in Jesus.

Renewed commitment to catechesis and resources that deepen understanding of the teachings of Vatican II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Promote the celebration of faith in the liturgy, especially in the Eucharist.

Assist women and men in the rediscovery of their baptismal vocation and its connection to the workplace.

Encourage educators to demonstrate the relevance of the Catechism to their respective subjects.
